Design Analysis

I already posted my final designs but, I have not blogged since we critiqued. One of the things I have address is why I chose the designs. I chose these designs because they were different. Out of most of the thumbnail designs, they were the ones that stuck out to me. The horizontal and vertical line design was really interesting to me. Somehow, the lines reminded me of buildings. It was interesting to my eyes. The curved line design was one of my favorites. I saw it in my thumbnails and thought it was weird. I didn’t think it looked good as a thumbnail. That’s the reason I chose it. I knew it could be better than it looked. The diagonal line design was also interesting. I felt it just came together as a piece. My weakest design was my design using all of the lines, I liked it because it seemed like it would be a cool piece on Bristol board with construction paper. Once finished with the design, I realized it wasn’t what I thought. During critique, I got critiqued on this piece. It came off to people as uneasy and had too much tension. My other design with the curved lines came off as whimsical and fun. I came up with two designs I would do to redesign my weakest piece. one of them I chose because it kind of kept the same sense of style. The other I chose because I feel it would look good redone into a Bristol board/construction paper design. I wanted to keep them interesting and original.
