99 nights

Its been kinda fun having a blog, i guess it has been kind of useful, but Lately its been a drag on me and more and more of a chore, and really only my parents have been keeping up with it to snoop on me. maybe later when i have something profound to say every once and a while I’ll bring it back up. 99 days shows a good chunk of my life I’d like to believe.

SHARP again

The 4th meeting of SHARP? We have been working on Jeremy’s procedurally generated dungeon card game idea, well OUR procedurally generated dungeon card game idea, and more specificly, MY random map system for OUR procedurally generated dungeon card game idea. We threw around some ideas, refined some, Jeremy gave us some Rouglike examples to show us (more specificly me) what the hell we should be aiming for.

Ponderance of card-based games

I was thinking about it in class a little bit, The Ac!d system was a little complicated to understand at first, but once you realized all the nuances it was pretty fun, and i tought i could be translated to other series, say, team fortress.

But i have come to the conclusion that AC!D is a purely single player system. alot of the game is waiting for opponents to take their turn, at fluctuating intervals, with doesn’t really support multiple players, and especially wouldn’t support something like Team Fortress which basically relies on it.

Cold day in Atlanta

Crazy right? I think i almost went into hypothermic shock or something, being running a little late for class and not having any time to adjust from my warm bed to the freezing outdoors, but i digress: games. My professor seemed to like my block out for Tim’s room, maybe i will send Johnathan Blow some renders when i finish and if i turn out to be a maya superstar

Cardan Gaems

I realize how much i love Card games. The shuffling of a deck is an elegant solution for random elements in an analouge game, and card-based video games are great for some overly complexed but just as genius ideas, such as the AC!D syestem. Maybe i just feel this way because i finally figured out the AC!D system, well most of it. I finally get COST at least. Trying to make an Analouge Rougelike for sharp, hopefully it will be another aweome card game.

Chris Myers

Chris Myers Visited today for the Master’s Workshop. A Scad alumni and now Neversoft employee, he worked on the new Metalica Guitar hero. He showed a bit of what he worked on, apparently he was the one that innovated the moving drumsticks, and how the fingers curl around them. He seemed to know alot about fingers, almost if he was like specifically a finger animator or something. But apparently someone who animates fingers for a living are paid pretty well. I could see how the studies of movement shown in his extensive demo reel shine through some of his work, as minute as it may be. All in all, cool guy.

GDXwooo

GDX in a few weeks. hopefully it wont interfere with any of my classes, although 2 of professors will probably go too. And even if it is in SAVANNAH i still can get work done i guess. Im kinda psyched to see my somewhat new idol: Jason Rohrer. I don’t think i will fanboy out… i only played 2 of his games, he’s no Sakurai. I mean, i was able to keep my cool around Jim Gaffigan i guess im set for life.

Ac!d trip

I bought off a friend’s Metal gear Ac!d, even though it was in a Metal gear Ac!d 2 box, however that happened.

Even though i Love Card-based games, it combined with Stealthing games might not be two great tastes that taste great together. That being said, of course i gave it a chance, i love unique stuff… and card games. anyways it took some time getting used too.. something about “cost” and stuf. i saw a big jump in difficulty when i got the new character, and i love seeing men having automatic weapons fired at them simply bounce off as if they were made of a solid iron wall.

Cooly Fooly

So yea, no i didnt really get pranked at all today, unless you count Adult swim’s atrocity. It was apparently made by Tim and Eric, which i suppose makes sence. Something that alarms me somewhat is that I am currently at 30% capacity for this scad blog thing, giving me maybe a year’s worth of posts MAYBE.

OH GOD

ZERO HOUR

im going off line.

work on my pokeman card game.
