Re- design: Subdivision of a Groundsheet
I decided to change the design for my curved lines. I feel the first one I made looks a little disorganized and it is not one of my favorites. In the re – design I try to make it more organized and at the same time creative and interesting by using some of the lines from the first one.
Project # 1 : Subdivision of a Groundsheet
I decided to select this 4 designs because they were the strongest of my sketches. It was a difficult decision to choose only four designs out of 100 sketches for each problem: A. Using only vertical and horizontal lines, B. Using Diagonal lines, C. Using curved lines, and D. Combining the different kinds of lines mention above. Besides been the ones I thought were the most interesting, the designs I chose occupied the full-size groundsheet and creates an absorbing visual flow through the entire composition. Also each design strongly emphasizes lines by using different thicknesses and directions.
Subdivision of a Groundsheet : sketches
A. Using horizontal, vertical, diagonal and curved lines, divide the page into a design that emphasizes line but develops interest in how the space is subdivided.
B. Using only straight horizontal and vertical lines, divide the page into a design that emphasizes line but develops interest in how the space is subdivided.
C. Using only diagonal lines, divide the page into a design that emphasizes line but develops interest in how the space is subdivided.
D. Using only curved lines, divide the page into a design that emphasizes line but develops interest in how the space is subdivided.
Introduction
Hello! My name is Juliana Vargas. I am from Barranquilla, Colombia: a lively country full of color, music, dance and talent, where family and values are our priority. Since I was four I began to get involve in the art world. Later when I grew up I discovered that art, specially painting, was my passion. At first I wasn’t sure about what career I would like to choose but I always knew that I want to study something related to art and design. I learned about scad, its mission, vision, opportunities, curriculum and academic purposes and I came to the conclusion that SCAD was definitely the place where I belong. I want to study Industrial design. Im sure Scad is the perfect place for talented students to show their creativity and imagination. I am happy to be part of this group!
