The next step, necessary in my mind was to create sense of my free writing notes. I began by transcribing the words and phrases into a mind map to build upon how they connect, interrelate, or intertwine. This then led me to create a word list so I could group or categorize everything together to build upon a closer relation.

I just love your web of thoughts. Amazing. Any who…it seems that you have some great keywords and ideas to begin with. Maybe start highlighting the ones that jump out at you and then you can start formulating some questions. Just make some randomly questions until you get a few to observe. Looking at this web I can see:

How can users engage in a space where visual form transforms the message?

How does the behavior of a user get alter when a familiar space function changes to communicate a visual message.

or How can typography and form allow people to interact to define it’s function?

I am just throwing stuff together, but hopefully you get what I mean. This way you can begin to narrow it down so you can start to focus on how to depend the argument.

    Nice work! Lori

    Hey Lori,

Have you taken this course before? (Kidding) You have a strong grasp with this! Thanks for all of the great feedback and ideas. I am going to take up your suggestion of highlighting key words, I was about to start narrowing my search but might sleep on it tonight and see what tomorrow brings with a fresh mind.
I like your what you’ve observed too!

This is roughly what I had before I began the free writing:
    - how form and function influences behavior
    - transformation of graphic design alters the creative intention of the form + meaning
    - reinvent the new meaning of the typographic form
    - how interpretations are altered when the design is constructed
    - how building the brand creates a new meaning
    - how constructing typography is transformed in an environment
    - how changing the form creates a new meaning

Our lists are somewhat similar, so in other words glad you are seeing and making sense of my thoughts!!

I’ll be back in the morning with a fresh take on this! Thanks again for your great thoughts!!
    jamie

Your map just mesmerized me on all the connections you made. Have you started to think about main topics from this and making supplemental maps focusing on those?
