About the SCAD Hong Kong ITGM Program

Welcome to the SCAD Hong Kong Interactive Design and Game Development (ITGM) Program

The SCAD interactive design and game development program prepares students to pursue areas of game art and design or interactive media forms such as Web design, user experience design and digital installation art. Students work on screen-based productions, as well as presentations in physical spaces.

Interactive design
Interactive design is an interdisciplinary field that merges the skills of graphic design, experience design and programming. Interactive designers specialize in creating meaningful experiences between the user and digital resources like Web pages, smartphones and social media sites. They enhance the user experience by examining user responses to visual catalysts and narrative-driven interactive environments.

Game development
SCAD offers a well-rounded education in game development comprised of a variety of skills required by the rapidly evolving game industry. These skills include game design theory and a working understanding of game-play systems and mechanics, 2-D game development for mobile devices and rich media sites, as well as 3-D game authoring with a strong emphasis on visually engaging real-time environments.
