This is me. I’m an animation student at Savannah College of Art and Design. A large part of my life has been dedicated to art, with the rest mainly being spent obsessing over nerdy things, reading, and daydreaming. Surprisingly, I didn’t decide on pursuing art as a career until a few years ago, so I’m finding myself playing quite a bit of catch-up with kids who had a bunch of art lessons growing up. I’m super passionate about what I’m studying, and I have some serious goals I’m working towards. Three things I’m pretty much dedicating the rest of my life to are Animation, Illustration, and Imagination. Going to school for animation, I’m finding myself drawn more and more to traditional mediums, methods, and styles of illustration. For this reason, I’m constantly looking for opportunities to meld the two, hoping for a job in which I can do that; the design process that goes into animation fascinates me. Eventually I’d love to illustrate children’s books for a living. Growing up with 4 younger siblings, I love kids and the imagination they’re capable of - in everything they do. I’d love to be able to capture that imagination in book form; I’ve got super fond memories of staying up way past my bedtime to read all about Where the Wild Things Are and how Bilbo found his magic Ring. Anyway, that about sums me up. In one blog post. I guess I’m not as interesting as I thought?
