FINAL Sound Solutions

This is my last project! It took me a while to create these ideas but I was pleased with my results.

Car Crash (top left corner): The sound of a car crash reminded me of girls getting together and being loud and initially Giiirl (a loud screech came to mind and then I thought of a trashcan being banged on to create a crashing sound.

Clock Ticking (top middle) : I came up with horse hooves because a clock has an echoed, repetitive sound so I thought walking hooves were simular.

Typewriter (top right corner): When I listen to a type write it has a pecking sound and I thought that when rain droplets hit a sheet of paper it creates that sound. A type writer  also had a wind paper sound so I also was able to incorporate that.

Bumblebees making love (second left side): When I think of bumblebees, I think of vibration and therefore I also thought of people chattering in a low volume that sounds like a buzz. I also incorporated the red for a vibrant effect to show movement.

The Jazz Band (second middle): I wanted the jazz band to be vibrant and I also wanted to represent each instrument. I symbolized the trumpet, drums, guitar, bass fiddle, and the piano.

The conversation between a tuba and flue (second right side): For this idea I create a cruise ship tube compared to a mini boat connecting to one another and the fading echoes representing the tubes coming together through echo.

The conversation between the angry father and shy child ( third left side): I thought of a volcano and a sunset. The volcano represents the erupting anger of the father which is chaotic and not in order and the sunset represents the shy child put together and smaller than the volcano.

Empty Stomach (third middle side): I thought of a whales sounds during an empty stomach.

Death(third right corner): I consider death and a fetus to be simular because a fetus is in a placenta and is moving through liquid and sound is muffled while being in a protective covering. I thought of death being 6 feet under and if sound could be heard that the sound above would be muffled as well. The fetus also rest as the dead would too, so I considered them to be related.

Overall, I liked my empty stomach and conversation between the angry father and shy child. The hardest idea to come up with was death and the car crash.

Do you hear what I hear?

I incorporated a few sounds I heard because I didn’t want to crowd my composition with a lot of words. However I heard many sounds, some were repeating or the same subject, therefore I condensed it into the common visuals. I heard squirrels, birds, cars, people, leaves etc.
