Hello Everyone!
So maybe this meeting may not be hunted or even that scary but we are meeting in a cemetery at night–creepy. Nellie Allingam, ISA President, will be telling us about the Philippines and how Day of the Dead is celebrated there. We will also be telling some scary stories of our own so have one ready. Dress in custom so after we can all go to the Masquerade Ball at the Student Center!
We will meet this Friday, Oct.28 in front of Habersham Hall at 9pm and then walk over to the cemetery which is just behind Habersham to pick a spot. If you can’t find us call Nellie at 619-721-6624 or me at 732-794-1007.
Come on time to hear So-Yeon Park, ISA member and Animation grad student, share some important new information she learned about the tangent of OPT.
See you there!

Hi everyone! ISA is Screen Printing!!
Excitement at Working Class Studio this Friday, Oct. 21, 2-4pm. Last Friday we had a little bit of a design contest. There was an unanimous vote for Jisoo Kim’s design and her prize is a plain white T-shirt so she can print on it. If you would like to have her design and others meet as at Working Class Studio in between Turner House and Weston. Bring anything flat to print on! It can be a shirt, bag, book, paper, kite, piece of fabric, or what every you can think of. Everything else will be provided. If you have color suggestions let me know. We will go over the studio rules when we are there.
Another very important event is being put on by the SCAD Indian Student Association (SISA).
Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is this Saturday, Oct. 22 at the River Club. The main event is 7-10pm but all that day we will be putting great effort into preparing for it. Decoration begins at 10 am and we will need volunteers afterwards to take decoration down. I encourage you to join SISA’s facebook group: http://www.facebook.com/sisa.scad. If you are interested let me know so I can add you to the Volunteer Facebook group. We need to have count of who is helping so you can get a free meal there. ISA will have a sign in sheet during the day.
Hope to see you!

Hello every one!
I hope midterms went well. As you can see it was a long week for me and I am sorry for the late notice of our ISA meeting. This meeting is worth it though! Meet at the usual time and place, Student Center, 4th floor at 2pm, Friday, October 14th. We are having a T-shirt Design Competition. Four designs will win. You can break up into teams or work alone to come up with an idea perfect for screen printing. The first 40 minutes will be designated to drawing. The last 10 minutes will involve us voting on a design. We will screen print the winning designs on Friday, October 21st at Working Class Studio (if everything goes according to plan).
Moon Festival:
We are collaborating with the RA’s of Weston to celebrate the Chinese Moon Festival. Please join us at Weston Court Yard from 7-9pm, today. Come an hour early to help decorate. We will be selling Moon Festival t-shirts as a fundraiser for ISA.
Hope to see!
Shekinah Ramos
ISA Vice President
