For those who missed our third meeting – a small recap!
Thank you to Professors John McCabe and Owen Foster for taking the time to review portfolios for the upcoming Nottingham Spirk interviews as well as to everyone who brought work with them.
While the portfolio reviews were in session, our own Kirk Morris was kind enough to give a lecture on the best practices for presenting. Some of the topics discussed:
- Practice, practice, practice! This will put even the best of presentations on that next level.
- What message do you want your audience to take away with them? Try to narrow it down to the three most important points.
- Always remember where you will be presenting! Different rooms have different set ups so make sure you are familiar with the one you are given on the day.
- Tell your story! Make sure you are capturing your audience’s attention while you do it.
