The Student Preservation Association hosts Preservation Week every spring and this year and they are looking for a little extra help! With the help of Student Activities Council, they are kicking off Preservation Week 2012 at 7pm on Saturday April 28th at Meddin Studios with a catered reception, silent auction, and two alumni film screenings.
They are looking for students and faculty to donate any artwork to the silent auction, in which a generous portion of all proceeds will go to the Fresh Air Home of Tybee Island, a summer camp for underprivileged children of Savannah. Fresh Air Home is funded solely through private donations with sessions running from June through August. The children that attend Fresh Air Home are given everything from clothing, food, personal hygiene items, toys, etc.
Please see the attached flyers for details on Preservation Week and auction donations. The deadline for submission has been extended to Wednesday April 25th at 7pm – Student Preservation Association’s next general meeting. Please help us make this event a success and mark your calendars for the opening reception!
Habitat for Humanity and the Oglethorpe Mall is hosting a Donation Box
ReDesign competition and it is open to all SCAD Students! The donation boxes
are the ones that you’ve seen in the malls or other areas and they are in
need of getting newly designed boxes in the mall.
You may enter the competition individually or in teams. Sketches of your
design are due on Friday, April 27 and the first 10 sketches will receive a
$25 gift card to assist with purchasing supplies. Actual constructed
donation boxes are due by Friday, May 11. The entries will then be judged
and winners will be announced! Winners will receive a gift card to the
