Attention SCAD Community-

 

We have been informed about the insecurity of using Google Docs for information and filing sharing.  We highly recommend using either your classroom dropbox, or SCAD’s own self-service collaborative site found here:
http://collaborativespace.scad.edu/
This space is hosted securely by SCAD.  It is also self-service, meaning that the students may set it up yourselves, add members, and manage whatever collaborative space you create for this purpose.  Hope this helps!  If you have any further questions feel free to email us.

Spring Quarter Updates

We need to hear from you in order to see what areas need improving!  Please take 5 minutes to click the following link and give ICC some feedback from this academic year: ICC Feedback Survey

Remember to turn in your re-registration form for the 2013-14 academic year by the end of the quarter (May 30).  This form is on the ICC blog.

As requested at the last ICC Meeting, the Inter-Club Council facebook page is now active!  Please like our page at www.facebook.com/SCADICC.  We want you to post any club news, meeting or event promotions you may have!

All reimbursement requests must be submitted by Monday, May 27.  Any funds left in each club’s allocated account will not roll over.  The only funds that will remain is anything in the fundraising account or money received as an ICC grant.   If you need to know how much money your club has left in either account, please e-mail gmercant@scad.edu.

Thanks to your feedback, we are able to make budget allocations for next year earlier in the Fall quarter–it will move from week 6 to week 3.  Please keep the following dates in mind:

  • Friday, September 20, 2:00 p.m., 2nd floor Student Center:  ICC Meeting *will be followed by a Budget prep session for those who want to stay
  • Tuesday, September 24, 2nd floor Student Center, 9-10 a.m., 12-1 p.m. AND 5-6 p.m., Budget Allocation Prep Sessions
  • Wednesday, September 25, 2nd floor Student Center, 9-10 a.m., 12-1 p.m. AND 5-6 p.m., Budget Allocation Prep Sessions
  • Thursday, October 3, All Budget Packets due by 5:00 p.m. to the office of student involvement

A few ICC updates and reminders:

1) Club nominations for the Student Leadership Awards are due by April 30.  We highly encourage you to make at least 1 submission!  To submit your nominations, complete the Student Leadership Awards Nomination Form found by clicking HERE.

2) Thanks to your suggestions on the advertising topic at the last ICC Meeting, ICC now has a facebook page! You can find it at facebook.com/SCADICC.  Please follow and begin to use this page.  Any approved club posters may be posted on the wall.

3) You can find the registration forms for the 2013-2014 academic year on the ICC blog.  These will be due by the end of the quarter.  If you already have elected your new board, please feel free to turn this form in now.

4) Student Activity Council‘s Films in Forsyth event is taking place in Forysth Park this week at 8 p.m.! On Thursday, April 25 Wreck-It Ralph will be shown, and on Friday, April 26 it will be the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.  This is a great FREE opportunity to get together with the new executive board of your club for 2013-14, or just a fun gathering for all your club members.

The next ICC Meeting will take place on Friday, April 12th, 2013 on the 2nd floor of the Student Center at 2:00 pm.

All those that hold the ICC Liaison officer position should attend.  If the ICC Liaison cannot attend, please send a different club representative.

Spring Quarter Updates! Sign-Up for Club Fair

On Friday, March 29 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. we will be hosting a Club Fair as a part of Spring Quarter Welcome Week. Please consider participating in and spreading the word about this recruitment opportunity for new club members! The Spring Quarter ICC Meeting will be held on Friday, April 12 at 2:00 p.m . This meeting will take no longer than an hour. Among other updates, we will be going over information on how to re-register your group for the 2013-2014 academic year.

Movie Screenings

We have recently had questions from several clubs about showing movies at club gatherings.  Unless your club purchases the rights to a movie, it is prohibited by law to show any films at club meetings or events.  If you would like to show a movie at a club gathering, please contact Gina Mercanti (gmercant@scad.edu).  Please contact Gina with any questions about this policy.  Thank you!

Dean’s Catering Fund– No more applications being accepted

The Dean’s Student Catering Fund has now been depleted– no more applications will be accepted until next Fall.

Grant applications are still being accepted.  Please find more information under the “Grants” section of this blog.
