It might not look it but this project was so much work. finding all the alphabets and numbers wasn’t too hard but the stop motion was. I ended up taking 873 photographs for the animation, and it’s only a minute and a half! I had a lot of trouble with the ice too. There was parts with a lot of ice between the letters and parts with almost no ice. I moved around the camera intentionally every once in a while to get more movement, Also changed the lights around too. I wish I had changed the lights more, but I didn’t know what it’s going to look like until the animation was done. Now I know for a next time. I’m horrible with computers so I has a friend help me out with the animation. Thanks to him.

It was a short critiqe so i didn’t get much comments but the ones I got were positive.

This was a lot of work but very fun project. We had a hard time coming up with the story and what each slide in going to show but after all of that was decided everything went smoothly. I usually don’t like group projects but after this one I don’t think their too bad. 

The comments during the critique were almost all positive. I’m glad that the viewers got where we were trying to go with it. There were some comments that said that the background of the slides should of been black. I understand why they said that but I personally think white was good. The sliding part of the frame could of been made better but we did are best and that’s that.

 I documented a lot of different patterns but for this project I decided to focus on moving patterns that involves people. Everyday things that we do and see all the time but I never thought of them as a pattern. I sat at a park for a while and watched kids play. The for patterns above are from those kids a watched. It was hard to find a pattern in kids because they move around so randomly compared to adults,

For this project I sat for a hour at a oriental food market called China Town. At first I tried to document the sounds useing words and letters. This was hard. The sounds go by so fast I could only get a small portion of them. Also when documenting the sounds in this way I could only get one sound at a time but actually in the world there are all kinds of different  sounds going on at the same time. So then I decided to close my eyes and tryed to describe all the sounds going on at the same time by converting the sounds into waves on the paper, like on a record. This worked a lot better. For the final piece I took a part of these waves an turned the in to spheres. Expressing the change in sound by the size and color.

Another fun project. I never had walked arroud paying so much attention to my surroundings.

Critiqe

Haveing no grid looks good, The motif is interesting, Good decision on bending the rools, parts of it look unfinished, Every one can see the concept so it is a sucessful piece, It doesnt flow smoothly, The lines should be indea ink.

My opinion

I doesnt flow as smoothly as I wanted to and I agree that it kind of looks unfinished. Over all I liked the idea but wish I could of used value.
