Why participate in Hometown Heroes?

11 10 2011

Being a Hometown Hero is a rewarding experience! These are just a few of the things last year’s Hometown Heroes had to say about their visits:

“It was really fun. I visited a new class under my old art teacher. They especially loved seeing the work I have done at SCAD and the photos of the college and city that I had taken.”

“The visit went superbly well!”

“Great…Students were attentive and interested when I listed significant names of artists who visit SCAD regularly.”

“A tremendous success! Many students passed b, looked at the things I had on display and asked tons of interesting questions. The atmosphere was filled with excitement!”

“Everyone was impressed on the presentation.”

“This was a great experience for me to share SCAD with students who are in the same art class that I was in only a short year ago.”

“It was a lot of fun and a lot more students attended than I had expected!”

“It went well. I only wished I could have shared my stories with more students.”

“Wonderful! The students were very enthused.”

“Extremely fun to be back at my old high school! The students were enthusiastic and it made the presentation go smoothly.”

“SCAD is extremely popular among the students at the school now. Everyone wants to come to SCAD!”

Become a Hometown Hero!

Hometown Heroes are current SCAD students who would like to visit their former high schools and colleges during breaks to share with teachers and prospective students what they have accomplished at SCAD. Participating students receive training and are given information to share with their former schools, as well as an exclusive SCAD gift. Hometown Heroes is also a great way to get a taste of the leadership opportunities available through
the Student Ambassador program. The program is sponsored by SCAD Student Ambassadors and the admission department. Come to an information session or booth to learn more about the program, register and pick up your supplies.
