Annual Poster Design Competition for Publix Georgia Marathon and Half Marathon.

The object of the contest will be to create a piece of art in 13 hours and 1 minute (coinciding with the 13.1 miles of the half marathon) unique to Georgia that incorporates the passion, health and fitness of running and the excitement of the event. 15,000 copies are professionally printed, and students win scholarship money. 1st Prize $1,500 2nd Prize $500

Food Packaging Project with Sealed Air / Cryovac /Cre8 Strategic :: Packaging
“It was a fun experience for us. Getting back 10 completed concepts on a package design is really an awesome sight. The students, as a whole, exceeded our expectations. I hope we can work together again with you guys.”
Students design packaging the Deli-Snap containers for Air / Cryovac /Cre8. Each student came with their own design solution and these were applied to three containers. In addition they had to carry the design solution to the display-board of the cold case.
The class made a field trip to Sealed Air / Cryovac ‘s office in Atlanta, for a tour of their showroom and facilities, as well as to make formal presentations of their package design solutions. The students stood in front of their classmates, faculty and Cre8 and presented their ideas and work. 2011

Graphic Design Professor Henry Kim and MFA Meg Mcclelland worked on identity design along with t-shirts and environment graphics for special collaboration project with Carter Barnes.

“Beauty Boost will give 250 people affected by these challenging times free haircuts/color/style. You will receive an “after” photo by Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) photographers. Additionally, representatives from RG Staffing, Paragon Search Group, Smart Search Group and the Coca-Cola Company will be available to review your résumé and offer tips on finding a job. Dr. Theresa Jarmuz from Buckhead Facial Plastic Surgery will provide Botox to some candidates. There will be fabulous gift bags, including Belk gift cards, and hair care products by L’Oreal and Kerastase.”

Our Global Village :: Promotional designs
OGV (Our Global Village) has raised money to build three classrooms for refugee children at the HoPE School in Uganda and helped support Akanksha students in slum communities in India.
The Atlanta Initiatives is to raise money for a homeless shelter. 2011
The Global Soap Project :: Information designs
Students designed brochure teaching kids in refugee camps hand washing techniques, a trade show banner, a table tent for participating hotels and shipping labels for the Global Soap Project.
They recycle discarded soap from hotels and send it to refugee camps. 2011
ARCHE (Atlanta Regional Council for Higher Education)

Students designed information oriented promotional flash pieces for ARCHE’s website and theme for a campaign to raise average of ARCHE goals. 2010
Kate’s Club :: Brand a fund-raiser
The mission at Kate’s Club is to empower children and teens facing life after the death of a parent or sibling through fun, consistency, community and comfort. 2011
Ritz Carlton Residences :: Environmental graphic
Collaborate with developer Pope and Land, students designed unique environmental theme for a 6 story parking building for the luxury high rise Ritz Carlton Residences in Atlanta. Students received $10,000.00 scholarship. 2009
