Diet Coke is launching the second season of its annual Diet Coke Young Designer Challenge and inviting creative individuals to submit a T-shirt design inspired by Diet Coke and Taylor Swift for the chance to have their original creation featured in all U.S. Target stores this fall. One of you could join the ranks of notable national and international designers on Target shelves – just in time for fall fashion.

Summer class registration is underway!  SCAD summer classes are a great way for students to accelerate the completion of your degree. You can explore the wonders of Lacoste, pursue a for-credit internship, take one of the numerous eLearning classes, and/or visit our spectacular Hong Kong campus.

  • Taking summer courses will expedite completion of one’s double major, major or minor, all of which will advance career options.
  • Look for 5-week courses that will complement your summer plans.
  • eLearning courses abound, and can be taken while traveling to continue  progress toward degree completion.
  • Experience SCAD locations in Savannah, Atlanta, Hong Kong, and Lacoste, France to enhance your global experience.
  • Do an internship and supplement it with an eLearning course.  Look for internship opportunities in one of SCAD’s global locations. Take courses onsite, while doing your internship.
  • There are limitless possibilities.  Encourage your students to see their student success adviser to plan their summer.

Evan Farrell, a SCAD alum from 2011, is now a Creative Director in Los Angeles designing for a Music Festival called RECESS that tours on College Campuses.  He is now looking for Design Interns for this summer. It’s a paid internship. I am looking to find students that live locally in the LA area or that are interested and willing to work here this summer.

The Chattahoochee National Recreation Area’s social media committee is holding a logo contest! They are the currently the second most used National Park in the country. They would like to raise their public profile as many people in the metro Atlanta area don’t even know they exist.

They are currently running a logo contest to  advertise a popular locations called Cochran Shoals. The logo must be submitted to the parks Facebook page, and the winning logo will be chosen based on the number of “likes” it gets on the page.  For more information on submission, contest rules and guidelines, please check out the parks website!

Our three month long program is designed to provide interns with practical experience and opportunities for skills development through their exposure to both the design and construction processes.
