Will I be receiving an award or honors?

Departmental awards will be incorporated into the presentation of degrees ceremony.  Your specific departments give awards and you should contact that department if you have questions.  Academic honors are based on your winter quarter grades.  Honors are announced when you walk across the stage.  However, your final audit determines what honor will be on your diploma.  Cum Laude is 3.5 to 3.69 GPA, Magna Cum Laude is 3.7 to 3.89 GPA, and Summa Cum Laude is 3.9 to 4.0 GPA.  Only undergraduate students are awarded academic honors.  WE DO NOT ROUND UP.

  1. Mellissa says:

Is there a way to rent cap and gowns or do we all have to buy brand new ones??

    • graduation says:

There is not a rental site for caps and gowns. If you have any friends that have previously participated in the ceremony, you can borrow and order only the items you need. Otherwise, you’ll need to purchase a new one from Herff Jones.

  2. Haley says:

I’m assuming students already have a seat apart from the given 4 or 6 tickets. Do we have reserved seats or will we need to account for one of those tickets?

Also, where are the department-specific ceremonies?

    • graduation says:

Students do not need a ticket. Tickets are only for family and friends. We will go over seating at rehearsal.

You can find a list of which schools are in the 1pm and 4pm ceremonies on the “Savannah Ceremony Information” tab near the bottom of the page.
