Moshe Safdie is the 2013 Savannah commencement speaker. Safdie is the designer of the Jepson Center for the Arts an architect, urban designer, educator, theorist and author.

If you have been approved to participate in the Spring commencement ceremony and have not ordered your cap and gown, this is your last chance. Only phone orders are accepted now, up to May 10th. You can reach a local Herff Jones customer service representative by calling 1-912-764-9314. All orders after the April 16 deadline receive a late charge.

May 10th @ NOON – Arnold Auditorium (1810 Bull Street)
If you have been approved to participate in the June 1 , 2013 commencement ceremony, please attend the graduation meeting on Friday, May 10th at NOON in the Arnold Auditorium, 1810 Bull Street. This meeting is for participants only and details regarding the ceremony will be discussed. If you are in Savannah, attendance is strongly encouraged. Email graduation@scad.edu if you have questions.

If you are eligible for the ceremony and have not already submitted a pronunciation, the deadline to submit name pronunciations is Friday, April 26, 2013.   There will be no pronunciations added after this date.  In the past there has been a pronunciation table at commencement rehearsal but not this year due to the time frame of other commencement deadlines.

If your name is pronounced in a special way, please phonetically type the pronunciation of your name and email this information to your graduation auditor (see below).   Syllables should be separated by dashes and stressed syllables should be capitalized.  (ex:  Raul Gonzalez :  rah-OOL  gon-SAH-les)  For help with phonetics, see the guide here:  Pronunciation Guide

The ice cream social for eLearning students will be held on Friday, May 31, from 4 to 6 pm, in Pulaski Square, 201 W. Charlton Street, Savannah.  Commencement tickets will be available for eLearning pick up only.  Contact ecampus@scad.edu with any questions.

Students will be able to pick-up their cap and gowns at the O-House ballroom on the dates below. You must have a picture id or SCAD card to pick up your cap and gown.

Wednesday, May 29 – 11:00 am to 6:00 pm
Thursday, May 30 – 11:00 am to 6:00 pm

• Spring graduation applications are due by March 29, 2013.

• Summer graduation applications are due June 29, 2013.

• Last day to order your cap and gown online is April 16, 2013. Phone orders are accepted up to May 10.

• Savannah Ceremony Participants Meeting is May 10, 2013, at noon in the Arnold Auditorium.

• Savannah Mandatory Ceremony Rehearsal is May 31, 2013, at 2pm in the Savannah Civic Center.

• Savannah Commencement is June 1, 2013, at 9am in the Savannah Civic Center.

If you missed Herff Jones in February, you can still order your cap and gown. You can contact a local Herff Jones customer service representative by calling 1-912-764-9314. Or you can order online at https://collegegrad.herffjones.com/

PLEASE NOTE: The last day for online orders is April 16, 2013. After April 16, late charges will be added. Phone orders are accepted up to May 10th. Students are responsible for paying late charges on all cap and gown orders after the deadline.
