Welcome to Generate 2009! September 25, 2009Posted by generate in : Updates , comments closed
Here’s where you will find information about generate, the SCAD 24 hour challenge event, that takes place from 10am on Friday October 2 until 10am on Saturday October 3.
The heart of the challenge is for the participants to face what is normally a multi-person, or multi-month task and effectively execute the same task in a 24-hour period with no advanced planning.
Originally executed in conjunction with the international 24-hour Comics Day, SCAD-Atlanta students were challenged to produce a 24-page print ready comic book in a 24-hour period. 2008 saw the birth of generate, introducing 17 challenges across multiple disciplines. Scroll down to browse the blog from last year for inspiration.
The 2009 event at SCAD-Atlanta brings back this interdisciplinary approach to the creative challenge. Students can choose from several ways in which to participate. Click the challenges tab to see the list of challenges.
Coffee and other beverages, snacks, pizza and breakfast will be provided to participating students.
Non-participating students are welcome to observe the event.
We’ll be posting updates throughout the event, and we will be showcasing final student work. A lot can happen in 24 hours. Do or do not. There is no sleep.
