The School of Foundation Studies hosts two exhibitions of student work each year, as well as the Sand Arts Festival.
| Sand Arts Festival Friday, May 10 At this annual Spring quarter event, SCAD sand lovers create forms in the sand on the North Beach of Tybee Island. Four contests are available and participants compete for prizes. Categories are Sand Castle, Sand Relief, Sand Sculpture and Wind Sculpture. |
| Foundations Honors Show Faculty Team Leader: Professor Patrick McKinnon This juried exhibition showcases student work made in Foundation Studies courses. Prizes are awarded in the following categories: Black and White Drawing, Color Drawing, 2-D Design, Color Theory and 3-D Design, as well as a $700 Purchase Award.The Foundations Honors Show is open to all students enrolled in a foundation studies class during the 2012-13 academic year. Work in any medium is accepted and must have been created in a SCAD foundation studies class during any quarter. Students may enter a maximum of four entries in any one category or combination of categories. |
| Foundation Studies Portfolio Award Exhibition Faculty Team Leader: Professor Jeffery Hicks The purpose of this annual exhibition, which takes place winter quarter, is to acknowledge and recognize students who seek to excel in all aspects of their foundation studies. As such, an exemplary portfolio would represent the breadth of foundation studies with some combination of design (2-D, 3-D, color theory) and drawing. The exhibition takes place winter quarter. Congratulations to students selected for the 2013 exhibition!
