Repetition Grid
For the repetition grid we had to create a single shape that was interrupted by another shape and blend this into one original shape. After creating a 2×2 grid and playing around with the possibilities of patterns and placement of said shape, we had to choose our favorite design and fill in any desired sections of the grid with black india ink. This is my final design.
From the critique I was informed that my piece was more interesting from a distance and that the black corners really emphasize the diagonals. I used a compelling motif and the placement was well-balanced. Unfortunately, the craftsmanship was not 100%.
