4. Fashion For a Cause - June 15, 2010

Hello Students!

My name is Tedrien Hill. My partner Andrew Hill(no relation, ha ha)
and I wish to collaborate with your creative minds and awesome talent
for events based in fashion for the upcoming school year of 2010-’11.

Let me give you a little information about us. We are both students at
Macon State College who eat, sleep and breathe fashion. Well, only as
much as I can afford. – I can’t go grubbing on McQueen burgers and
fries all the time! That’s cause for bankruptcy! – We are creative
directors of an up and coming organization at MSC called the Fashion
Committee. The Fashion Committee will produce fashion
shows/presentations, parties and more not only in an effort to bring
culture and style to Middle Georgia but to also give back to the
(global and local) community; hence the title of our annual charity
event, Fashion For A Cause. Just this past semester Fashion For A
Cause was held at MSC to benefit the survivors of the
earthquake-ravaged Haiti. While that is just one cause in the many
causes throughout the world at the end of the day it still feels great
to do your part in improving someone else’s life.

That, my hopefully new friends, is why I am writing this. We are
looking for fashion design students that want a little outside of
school experience. We would like someone or some people who can put
together a mini collection for this particular event. Fashion For A
Cause 2011 will benefit survivors of domestic violence/abuse and
anyone who was or is still affected by it. As of right now the concept
for the show is women(real and not-so-real) throughout history who
have overcome obstacles in life and come out victorious and on top or
are great female role models. Such women referenced in the inspiration
and structure of clothing for the show are Joan of Arc, Storm(X-Men),
Grace Kelly, Michelle Obama, Nefertiti and more. As you can see some
of the women are not the most conventional but that’s the fun in it!
Firstly, we want to give a broad spectrum of powerful women that women
and young girls now can appreciate. Secondly, we want to give you as
the designer plenty of inspiration for your wonderful minds to create
something unique, thought-provoking and totally your own! We know you
have it in you so we want to provide every possible way for you to
show it. Don’t worry, the show is not until next spring so you’ll have
plenty of time to sketch, build and perfect as you see fit. But we’d
like get started as soon as we can.

If you’d like more information we can be reached at
t.nicholashill@gmail.com and andrew.d.hill86@gmail.com. We look
forward to hearing from you and meeting you soon!!

Sincerely,

Tedrien + Andrew
