Posted by SCAD Fashion Department in : Design Resources , add a commentDiet Coke is launching the second season of its annual Diet Coke Young Designer Challenge and inviting creative individuals to submit a T-shirt design inspired by Diet Coke and Taylor Swift for the chance to have their original creation featured in all U.S. Target stores this fall.
You could join the ranks of notable national and international designers on Target shelves – just in time for fall fashion.
This is truly an opportunity for an amateur designer to make their dreams a reality. T-shirt designs will be accepted through May 31 at www.DietCoke.com/DesignerChallenge .

SCAD hosts The Great Gatsby screening April 30, 2013

I have some exciting news regarding an opportunity with the film, THE GREAT GATSBY. SCAD Atlanta has been asked to host the May 7th advance screening at Regal Atlantic Station. I have been asked to invite faculty, students and staff.
Attached is a PDF invitation and you MUST RSVP to greatgatsby@gmail.com address and the RSVPS will be managed based on a first come first serve basis. Note the attire is cocktail: jeans, baseball caps are NOT allowed.

As you all know, our blog is a huge part of what sets CP apart, and it’s time to take it even further. We are looking for someone to help develop and create new stories and tutorials for our blog, from coming up with creative concepts to creating beautiful visuals to writing clear and easy-to-follow tutorials and projects.
While we’ve had paid internships before, this is the first one focused entirely on blogging. If you’re a creative person who loves writing, sewing, creating moodboards, styling, and taking photos, this could be a great fit for you.
You will be working out of our studio in Portland, OR. This is a full time position through the summer (June – August, exact times are flexible). This is a paid, temporary, entry-level position. For more info and to see how to apply, visit our jobs page!

To access this information go to mySCAD> Resources> Atlanta Shop Resources(under Department Directory)> Sculpture Print Labs. This page contains General information, Information/Requirements document, Consent Form, Illustrator and Rhino Templates. Kudos to Shop Tech Antonio Darden for putting all this together for us.
Every Friday during the quarter, beginning January 25th, we will begin offering Laser cutter orientation at 10:00 am in the Sculpture Facility.

We are looking for student designers with a GPA of 2.8+ to showcase their collection (5-10 pieces mens or womens wear) at a Fundraiser fashion show on November 17th 5-7p. We will be judging the collection and will award the winner with a prize and a feature on the organization website and facebook page. This is an annual fundraiser event, which typically has around 200 attendees, for the Cami foundation (http://www.camifoundation.com/home.html). You must be available for 3 mandatory meetings: Oct 21st 3-5p, Nov 10 10a-12p and Nov 16 7p-9p; we will provide the models. All practices/meetings will be held at the Paradise Gymnasium & Cultural Center 4234 Hendrix dr, Forest Park, GA 30297.
