To Enter, click here: http://www.sacredsilks.com/entry/form_new_2.php
This is an opportunity to design a meaningful fashion accessory that will become the pink ribbon of peace.
Design a silk scarf using the Golden Rules from all the world’s religions as shown below, or with a design that represents your idea of what the Golden Rule exemplifies.
Our judges are the Chairs of the top fashion design schools in the country and if your design is chosen, you will win $5,000 for 1st place, $2,500 for 2nd place or $1,000 for 3rd place.
TEXT TO USE FOR THE DESIGN
Your ‘Golden Rules’ design can be with or without the name and/or symbol of the religion/spiritual practices. Please submit your idea even if it doesn’t include the use of the text below, but you feel it will inspire people and exemplify the ‘Golden Rules’. Hint: we will lean favorably towards designs that incorporate all or most of the scriptures below.
And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. Christianity
None of you truly believes until he wishes for his brother what he wishes for himself. Islam
Love thy neighbor as thyself. Judaism
Treat others as you yourself would be treated. Hinduism
The heart of the person before you is a mirror. See there your own form. Shinto
Make thine own self the measure of others, and so abstain from causing hurt to them. Buddhism
Choose thee for thy neighbor that which thee choosest for thyself. Baha’i Faith
In happiness and suffering, in joy and grief, we should regard all creatures as we
regard our own self. Jainism
Love is a complete unity with all that lives for all life is One. Religious Science
Oh Great Spirit, grant that I may never find fault with my neighbor until
I have walked the trail of life in his moccasins. Cherokee
One going to take a pointed stick to pinch a baby bird, should first try
it on himself to feel how it hurts. Yoruba (Nigeria)
If everyone were to practice this one principle, we would have world peace!
