Portfolios, portfolios, portfolios. May 25, 2009

It may not be fun or glamorous, but if you can get in the habit of updating your portfolio at the end of each year, or (better yet!) each quarter, you’ll be thanking yourself and sooooo thrilled with yourself when internships and jobs come around and you don’t have to scramble to get your work together at the last minute.
- So!! Here are a few links to help you out. The first is a career guide with portfolio advice from 24Seven Talent. To inspire you, I’ve included links below to a few designer portfolios that I found recently that I think might inspire you. If you’d like to see more, have a look at these designers.
First up is Matthew Bowman – This guy does some really nice colored flats. His graphically strong looks focus on the urban, modern, contemporary market.
Reachele Batuyong – Seems like all the best portfolios belong to people who are also great graphic designers. Reachele is no exception.
Elmaz Hüseyin – This graduate of Central St. Martins has focused on streetwear inspired lines, designing for Tommy Hilfiger, ENYCE, and Fubu.
Elizabeth Castelo - Those of you interested in more high-end ready to wear should check out her work. She designs both womenswear and accessories.
