Hancock Fabrics – This is not a store that we would recommend you visit to find fabrics for your garments, but they are a great source for notions.   Here you can find muslin, scissors, thread, and basic zippers.  The location listed below is also the best source in Atlanta for interfacing of all weights and varieties.

Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts – Slightly better than Hancock’s for garment textiles, but still not great. They are, however, an excellent source for notions, patterns, and large variety of workroom supplies (huge selection of scissors and cutting mats.)  Better source for crafting and art supplies than fabrics.   Always understaffed, be prepared to pay for samples and to wait in line to get your fabrics cut or a question answered.  They do regularly have great sales and offer generous coupons which makes the wait worthwhile when you need to buy a big ticket item.  Open late.
