Hello All,

For those taking Introduction to Fashion Sketching and Advance Fashion Sketching and so on, word of advice; look at some fashion illustrators reference their style to help your hand get use to illustrating. I know the Resource Room has some of these books but it is better to have them as your own reference in case you need it the night before sketchbooks are due. But here are some of the books that we found very helpful with the links to Amazon.

Window Wonderland

Posted in projects on November 9th, 2010

Photos from FIC’s last Fall Quarter project: window painting for Fab’rik boutique on Broughton St. The theme for the window is a winter wonderland with the tagline: “Oh! The weather outside is frightful, but the fashions from Fab’rik are delightful!”

If you haven’t checked out the store, I recommend you do! The atmosphere is so chic and all the clothes are affordable (most under $100!).

Thanks to everyone who attended meetings and helped out with projects this quarter! Have a great winter break, and I hope to see everyone again in January!

On Saturday, the 16th, the Paper Doll Photo Shoot took place.  We collaborated with Fashion Buzz, the fashion merchandising  and marketing club, to combine styling and fashion illustration.  We worked with three models who posed in 2-D garments created by members of FIC.  Here is a behind the scenes look at the great fun we had!

Paper Doll Preparation

Posted in events, projects on October 12th, 2010

Hello All,

I know many of you are busy with studying and doing midterm projects. But if you can take a break (or need one) from your midterms on Wednesday night, October 13 at 8p.m. in Eckburg; we are having a session where you can bring the foam core or cardboard that you are working on and other mediums to create or vamp up the “paper doll” garments or accessory.

The photo shoot is this Saturday, October 16 at 9 a.m. in Bergen. If you can’t make to the session on Wednesday night there is still an opportunity to drop off your garment at Bergen between 9-10 a.m. We ask that you include on the back of your piece Your Name, Year, Major and SCAD e-mail address.

Good Luck on all your exams and deadlines.
