FIC: SCAD Fashion Illustration Club

It might not be the kind of illustrating we do in FIC, but don’t you just love these perfumes?  They’re so sketchy and simple, I had to share!

FIC once again participated in SCAD’s Sidewalk Chalk festival! We sketched our outline first and then worked with chalk, paint brushes and water to get a smooth surface. Jane working on the face while Shira and I worked on the dress. Great team effort (Thanks for the picture, Shira!) 

Is anyone else a little upset that winter is ending? The month of March has started and life in Savannah will become green again in a matter of weeks.

I grew up in New Jersey and I miss wearing gloves, boots and hats. Those items are not needed for more than a month in the south.

I especially love this look below. I love minimalistic style, and the chunkier the scarf, the better! This would be a perfect winter outfit to illustrate, don’t you think? I’d wear this to meet up with Jane for coffee.

I’ll savor these last couple cold mornings before I have to give up on my winter wardrobe.

It’s never too early to start prepping your portfolio! We will be focusing on what makes a good portfolio, talking about internships, and looking at examples by current illustrators! Hope to see you there!

We hope everyone is having a fabulous fall quarter so far. FIC has had 2 successful meetings with our new officers, Jane, Kim, Christyn & Carla. Our last meeting for the quarter is November 8th. Follow us on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/326446702400/?fref=ts) for updates. 

A little side note- If you have missed any of our meetings we still encourage you to come and be a member of FIC! Our club does not penalize you if you are absent from meetings, as long as you are interested in fashion illustration you are welcome. FIC is all about having fun, learning new skills and illustrating!

It is nearing the end of the year, and all of your current officers are graduating. Therefore, we need 5 new members to take our spots. We are looking for candidates that are active club members and have volunteered at our events in the past. If you are chosen, you will “shadow” the current officers during winter quarter, so you know exactly what you are doing once Fall starts! Please fill out the application below and email it to fic@scad.edu by March 2nd!
