Kubrick Forever and Ever and Ever…. February 12, 2009
Posted by ereber in : Controversial, Film, Jen, VRC, library , add a commentI have added 50 images to the Digital Image Database that highlight the career of Stanley Kubrick and his films. Film students ought to appreciate this titan of film. The images came from The Stanley Kubrick Archives. This book can be found on the first floor in the large format books section. This tome is huge. What I have uploaded is just the tiniest fraction of images this book provides. It is really worth looking at.

The Art of the Matrix January 14, 2009
Posted by ereber in : Film, Jen, VRC, library , add a commentI have added 44 images to the DID from the film The Matrix in an effort to beef up imagery useful to our film and sequential arts students. I have included many images from the story boards of this production. There are also comparison studies that show a movie still with the storyboard inset. These would be valuable to those curious about how a vision is maintained throughout a production.

Imogen Cunningham December 31, 2008
Posted by ereber in : Jen, Nude, VRC, library , add a commentImogen Cunningham was a pioneer in photography. Her career in photography started in 1901 and proceeded until the year of her death in 1976. She was one of the first women photographers to capture the nude human form in its unadorned beauty. Her knowledge of the medium evolved from her studies in photographic chemistry. She subsidized her early education with botanical photography.
I have added 38 images to our digital image database in the Visual Resources Center. These images would be excellent for those studying the human figure for photographic or anatomical knowledge. For those wishing to understand the complex challenge that hands can present, her images of artists’ and musicians’ hands are amazing studies in the human form.

His work has also been vandalized by Neo-Nazis. His images of death, bodily fluids, KKK members are the epitome of shock art.
