My efforts to add more images to the Digital Image Database from our permanent reserve collection is complete though I will endeavor to stay on top of any new materials that arrive.

I finished out this project with two titles:

Locker Room Nudes

This book is an excellent resource if you wish to study the figure structure of the athletic male figure. I tried to pick as many dynamic poses as possible. I added about 33 images from this title.

Moise Santamaria

Boxer: Moise Santamaria

The other title I catalogued was  Self Exposure:The Male Nude Self-Portrait

This book contains photography from 53 different artists. It covers a large spectrum of techniques and aesthetics. I would recommend this to anyone who needed to create a self-portrait.

I have added 50 images to the Digital Image Database that highlight the career of Stanley Kubrick and his films. Film students ought to appreciate this titan of film. The images came from The Stanley Kubrick Archives. This book can be found on the first floor in the large format books section. This tome is huge. What I have uploaded is just the tiniest fraction of images this book provides. It is really worth looking at.

I just finished cataloging images from Setting the Scene: The Great Hollywood Art Directors by Robert S. Sennett as part of my promise to add more film related images to the Digital Image Database. You can find these images by simply selecting the film category and pasting the title of the book in the Book Source field. Most of these images relate to set design with concept art, film stills, and production stills.

For those of you in fashion and/or photography this book is an excellent example of how designers, photographers and celebrities can collaborate to bring some good into this world. A plethora of stars agreed to photographed in the buff by a variety of notable fashion photographers. In collaboration with Jimmy Choo and Cartier they created a book called Four Inches. All proceeds from the sale of this book went to the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

I have added 44 images to the DID from the film The Matrix in an effort to beef up imagery useful to our film and sequential arts students. I have included many images from the story boards of this production. There are also comparison studies that show a movie still with the storyboard inset. These would be valuable to those curious about how a vision is maintained throughout a production.

My most recent addition to the Digital Image Database is a collection of 24 character development images for Vampire Hunter D by Yoshitaka Amato. These images are just gorgeous! His use of acrylics and colored inks is stunning. These images span 1983-1997. Check them out!
