Encourage Students to Participate in an Online Discussion

Blackboard Learn’s discussion board allows members of the class to communicate with one another while not requiring all members to be online at the same time. This can be an engaging tool to use to encourage students to continue to participate in a course outside of the traditional course meeting times. You may have students attend a local event and record their reflections using a discussion forum. You might also post articles for students to review, or encourage students to post parts of a project to gain feedback from others in the course.
