About

The SCAD Drumline exists for the purpose of creating a celebrated tradition distinguished by talented students, a strong work ethic, and a passion for the art of music and performance.  The Drumline is committed to promoting percussion as a progressive art form in addition to advocating a positive image for the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Founded in the fall of 2008, the Drumline was created as a way for drummers, percussionists and SCAD enthusiasts alike to make some noise on campus.  Originally it consisted of 4 basses, 3 snares, and a quint, but has since expanded to include a second quint and 3 cymbals. Our drummers are from a wide range of ages, majors, and levels here at SCAD.  The Drumline began performing in the fall of 2009 at volleyball games, soccer games, lacrosse games and any other athletic event opportunities that arise.  The Drumline has performed at SCAD events at both the Savannah and Atlanta campuses including the QEP Project, International Festival, Sidewalk Arts Fest, and graduation ceremonies on both campuses.  In March 2010 the guys took to the streets of Savannah for their first performance within the community as they marched in the St. Patrick’s Day parade.
