Senior Night!!

Category: Uncategorized

SCAD Drumline has been really busy this week. Soccer Games, Volleyball Games, Senior Night, new cadences, full of excitement! Everyone was out in full force this weekend for the Volleyball Game…. SENIOR NIGHT!  That’s right.  Everyone also wore pink for breast cancer awareness!  It was an evening full of noise and insanity.  The Drumline made an impact with the crowd and was invited down for a picture. Missed it?  It’s cool… follow us on twitter @SCADdrumline, Facebook SCADdrumline, or right here at the blog.  The volleyball games may be over, but the fun is not. We are gearing up plans for winter quarter, and still playing a couple performances this quarter, including SCAD Day, LAX Alumni game, and possibly the Men’s Soccer semi-final game!! Stay tuned… who knows, there could be something in it for you…

Schedule and SOCCER!

Category: Performances

Welcome back into the full swing of things for the 2009 SCAD Drumline season.  We’ve had two soccer games and a volleyball game so far.  Pictures of those will be going up shortly.  The drumline has been making some pretty big noise on campus.  At the soccer games, fans and players alike have been found to groove along to the beats, and they want more! The volleyball gym at St. Paul’s has never felt or heard so much noise in there before.  It was SO LOUD.  This afternoon, SCAD’s Men’s soccer played the Milligan Buffaloes from Tenessee.  With the Drumline there, we were able to secure a 2-1 Victory!  Go Bees!  As far as the drumline is concerned, this afternoon’s game was debut for two new cadences! IOWA and UNCERTAINTY.  Both methodical rythmic pieces, they got the Soccer crowd’s blood boiling.  Here are some pictures from today’s game.

Also, here’s the new scedule from here on out.  Come make some noise!!!

Drums, finally!

Category: Uncategorized

So, as a drumline should, WE FINALLY HAVE DRUMS!  it seems a weird thing to say after months of having already been practicing, but yes, we finally have drums!  Thanks to the work of David Trayte, Cris Dykeman, and SCAD, we’ve been able to receive our line on rent from Purdue University.  We hope to one day gain enough support from the student body to where we can proudly show off the scad colors on our own line of brand new premiers.  However, these new drums are great, exactly what we need.  Does anyone know of any SCAD stickers we can place over the Boilermaker’s P’s?  We’re excited to be able to play on on real drums, and make the noise we’ve been hearing in our heads for months.  I’m sure all of you who line in Dyson or Weston, or even Turner have noticed, they make some SWEET SWEET song.  This week, we’re practicing for Fall Fest on Saturday!  We’ll be going on at 4:35pm on Saturday opening for the bands that will perform at our annual Fall Fest concert organized by SAC.  Come on out and see us. If you live the dorms, you probably aren’t going to have a choice.  Either way, we’re excited about our new drums, our new sound, and a new movement here at SCAD that’s got a-LOT of support running.

Here are some pics of the line practicing at Dyson Field this week:
