All these weeks of work, it is amazing to see the final product. CULT has become a dream for every pop culture lover. Our look book and brand book are everything they were supposed to be. CULT shows a sleep simple brand with a whole lot of potential.

There isn’t much I would change about it.

I have learned so much through this process. It is much harder than I thought I would be to create a brand. I think the hardest part is the research. We struggled to find all the statistics we wanted. It also made it difficult the fact our brand does not exist. With creating something completely new, I think we did a great job.

Cult is hoping to have a diffusion line of makeup or home goods. We hope to pair makeup with Sephora for some of our collections. If we do home goods we would like to work with target. We think we could reach a larger audience. Also, by doing this we hope to make pop culture followers to have fun quirky all around lives.

Another important opportunity for CULT is working with Celebrities and artist that our collection is inspired off of. We would like celebrity endorsements and events. Ultimately, we would like to work with the costume designers as well to get truly inspired pieces.

Our company officially has a name. We are not sure if it is too harsh or just right. Our name will be CULT as far as we know. CULT stands for pop CULTure. It could also stand for a group of followers. That is exactly what we hope to attract. A group of people who love pop culture, and live for pop culture as much as we do. We are starting to look at our marketing and promotion. Today’s promotion revolves around social media. We of course will be involved in all networks, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.

To promote this brand we want to do social media contests. To get people pumped about our line as well as excited to go see the movie, concert, etc.

Creative Brief

We continued further on our brand. We figured out for sure we will be working with the theme of Great Gatsby. It comes our at the perfect time when our brand will be presenting it’s first line for spring summer 2013.

The 20′s brought a time of amazing fashion and accessories. We can have great head wear, lots of pears, and sparkle. It will be such a fun first collection. Our inspiration for our photo shoot is a destroyed party scene that features hands, arms, heads, and feet. We hope clothing won’t be shown since we are focused on accessories.

Now we are a week into our final project. Our group has decided on the Pop Culture accessory collection. It had been fun creating this company or brand. We still have no name but we are getting closer to a final idea about this brand.

During this week we started looking at what pop culture influence we want our look book to be inspired by.

MY BRAND

This week we started our final, I am actually really excited about it. We are creating our own brand as I had talked about all those famous brands last week. My group and I are thinking about two options.

Option One

A workout clothing company. Similar to Lulu Lemon, although we would like it to be more reasonably priced. We want this company to comprehend the new rhythm of exercise. This company should inspire people to exercise. It should make you feed great while you wear it.

Option two

This option is unique, unlike anything anyone has ever seen. Our company will encompass the idea OPI had started. OPI uses pop culture to inspire their nail polish colors. We want to do the same thing, but with accessories. Our company will showcase this pop culture feel. We want it to be inspired off of up and coming movies, concerts, and popular destinations.

It was really interesting to see that Coca-Cola had the number 1 branding. It was interesting to looking though all these brands on this site. I would suggest to anyone who reads this to look at this website. It is fun to filter and sort through the top 100 brands.

Little Black Dress

When I first went to this exhibit I though I had died and went to heaven. It is an amazing what they have put together at the Museum. You don’t know where to start. It was amazing to see how little black dresses have evolved. It was also amazing to see how a little black dress can show so much personality.

I was a dream to see some of the dresses that were vintage from amazing designers. Most people would dream of seeing a vintage Chanel that was that beautiful. For me there just aren’t words to describe this exhibit.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961) starring Audrey Hepburn. This movie made Hepburn a fashion icon with her little black dress (now known as the LBD), oversized sunglasses, giant pearl necklace, and gloves.

Annie Hall (1977) starring Diane Keaton and Woody Allen. Keaton’s style in this film made “androgynous chic” all the rage, and women started wearing men’s ties, waistcoats, and wide-leg pants. This trend is still popular today though it has taken on different forms.

Dirty Dancing (1987). This film not only influenced America’s dance moves, but also influenced American fashion as denim shorts and “crop tops” became a popular trend.
