Undergraduate Minor in Cinema Studies

The minor in Cinema Studies expands the growing Liberal Arts offerings of SCAD, supplementing students’ hands-on studies in a variety of majors with attention to the historical, cultural and aesthetic context of filmmaking. The minor complements not only the Film and Television major (educating aspiring filmmakers in the history of the medium), but also a variety of other majors, as it enables students to study in-depth the history of the most significant art form of the 20th century. A great variety of SCAD majors might anticipate work in the film industry or pursue graduate studies in cinema.
