Dual Degree: M.A. in Cinema Studies and M.F.A. in Film and Television

The dual M.A./M.F.A. degree gives students a thorough foundation for understanding cinema in its historical, cultural, technological, and aesthetic specificity, while allowing them to put that knowledge into practice as they create their own works of film and video art in top notch facilities using the latest technologies. This background augments students’ preparation for a wide range of careers and artistic endeavors:, producing informed critics, journalists, archivists, educators, as well as a wide variety of industry professionals. The dual degree is especially advantageous for students interested in teaching, as it provides the ability to teach both cinema history and film production, as well as offers teaching experience to all candidates.
