Getting Started on my MFA Thesis
My name is Cinthya Guillen. I am pursuing a MFA degree in Interactive design. Time has pass so fast it was only four quarters ago, I was so excited of receiving my acceptance letter to SCAD. And now it has come the time to take my finals steps towards my degree.
Since high school computers became my passion. This is where I was first introduced to programing. But as I move forward on my studies, my love for programing transformed. I was attacked more to the design aspect that the actual coding. Better said a happy medium is always good. I have loved design all my live. As most little kids I used to draw in the walls of the house with anything that I could find. But my passion for drawing and design didn’t stop at childhood. Even know you will see my in meetings doodling away while listening to the speaker or presented. I guess I have that need to always have my mind on something.
When time to pick a major for college came around I started with Computer Science. But I was loving more the design side. And I decided to switch majors and enter the Visual Arts world. I must admit FIU program was very flexible but since I have a rough structure from my freshman college training at TCNJ. I had a plan at hand: combining Arts, Computer Science ,and even Architecture classes I was able to get a well-rounded education and gain knowledge in all the programs that i was interested.
I must admit, I have been pretty lucky my job has help me grown in the field. As well as get me expose to new technologies. I am a PRO in FB API and love the initial stages of FB development were everything was in quick sand mode. Now that FB is more stable, and continuously grow into the giant that is today. I can’t pass by the idea of the influence and power that social sites like Facebook (FB) have in our lives.
We live in an age were technology blooms continuously. The power that CSS3, HTML5 mobile and responsive design give the web is breath taking. These are a few of the ideas I will like to explore for my thesis.
Thesis Ideas
- User-friendly interfaces for mobiles and web
- Responsive Design
- The New HTML Age: HTML5 & CSS3. Where the web and interactive world meet.
- Mobile: Web for different screen sizes and resolutions.
- HCM: HTML, CSS3 & Mobile
As I mentioned before this all rough ideas and any input is really appreciated. I have a very technical background so I think I can handle all the coding that any of the above may require.
