Really like the layout of theses designs. They have the perfect amount of elegance without overdoing it. My favorite is easily the one with the descending lines because it has some great movement.

    quick critique, since it’s here:
i LOVE the boldness of the lines in the first piece. very crisp, and the slight angle to the crossing lines makes it interesting to look at.
the second piece is an interesting concept, and the asymmetrical nature of it makes the eye travel very fluidly over the edge. however, the disjointed corners where the thin and thick meet up is a little distracting. perhaps tapering the lines, or connecting them all together would make it stronger.
the third is as bold as the first, but the craftsmanship falls a bit short on the curves. curves are hard as hell though, so using a french curve or taking more time and care could easily remedy that. the implied line through the center is a great touch, though it makes the lover-right piece seem dangerously close to a shape more-so than a line.
Finally, the last piece just seems rushed compared to the others. again, watch your curves, and keep an eye out for those edges.

great set, keep up the good work!

The design using all of the lines really captured my eye. It’s interesting and I really like it, even if it is simple. All of your designs are very simplistic, but a good set overall.

  4. C. Matthew Jackson says:

I really like the one using only vertical and horizontal lines here. You can feel the depth immediately. Nice work man!

  5. Olympia Hinman says:

I really like your bold and thick lines. They really stand out and make a statement. My favorite is your horizontal/vertical piece. I love the contrast created with the use of thick and really thin lines. It looks like a line of skyscrapers to me. Unique work :)

  6. William Ball says:

Hey, man. It’s William from the 8am M-W class. These are looking very bold, and you’re not afraid to have big, thick lines in your designs. Keep it up, and feel free to check out my finals & redesign:
