Aug 25, Jekyll Island Summer Wave trip
Posted by Stephanie Li on August 24th, 2012
Depart from JO’s at 9 a.m.
The ISSO will pay for the Summer Wave tickets and provide the lunch.
Attached is a Map of Jekyll Island to help you get your bearings on where things are. The island is not huge, but you can’t walk it all in one day either! The drive will be about 1 ½ hours each way, leaving approximately 5 hours for you all to enjoy the island as you like.
If you are planning on hanging out at Summer Waves Water park, I’ve heard a lot of comments about people burning their feet on the hot cement when moving around, so it might be a good idea to bring flip flops you can carry on the rides or wear water shoes.
If you’re not sure yet what you will want to do, you can visit http://www.jekyllisland.com/ for a full list of activities and most have websites that will tell you the cost.
What to bring depends on what you plan to be doing (but everyone wear sunscreen!). Please note the bus probably will not be where you are for the full day, but you may leave items in it you do not want to carry around.
