Repetition Grid

Our last project was to create a repetition grid in which we had to take one shape and pierce it with another shape. I chose a square that was pierced with a triangle.

We had to create a motif using the shape and then use tracing paper to find a way to color the squares. We could leave the squares blank, color them solid, or color parts of the shapes.

Once we found a color pattern we liked we had to transfer the motif to a board and use India ink to color the motif.

Congested, Playful, Tension, Order, Increase, and Bold.

In this project we had to create compositions with flat black squares to represent: congested, playful, tension, order, increase, and bold. I created all my compositions in photoshop, expect for order which I drew with a black pen.

Isolation and Concentration Designs

Our lastest design project was to create at lest two different designs using “isolation” and “concentration”. The designs had to be done on a square of any size, but had to be black and white. These are my two designs. My favorite is the concentration design because of the way the suns go off the page. Also, I like that the focal point isn’t in the center of the composition.

A New Beginning

Hey everyone!

I’m Brittany Segars but I prefer to go by my middle name, Taylor. I just transferred to SCAD from Santa Fe college in Gainesville, Fl. I am from a little beach town called Ponte Vedra Beach which is located on a barrier island about 45 minutes outside of Jacksonville. I am very inspired by the beach and I enjoy taking photography of the beach as well as collecting beach glass. I am also a very dedicated equestrian. I have been riding for over 15 years and I couldn’t imagine my life without horses and riding. While at SCAD I plan on majoring in graphic design and I hope to become involved with equestrian studies program. I am very excited to start this new journey in my life!
