Critique results and redesign
Welcome back!
Today we did a mass critique of the pieces, and although it wasn’t a complete and refined critique I still got a lot of useful information out of it!
The critiques for this piece were:
- Looks like fabric
- Has good craftsmanship
- The square either needs to be precisely in the middle of the piece, or very off center
- Possibly if all of the lines came into the square
- Or the lines were all smooth around the square
The critiques for this piece were:
- It looks like something underneath a microscope
- There is a presence in the center
- It looks like you are looking through the picture into something else.
I didn’t get any other critiques other than those two, but I really appreciate the critiques that I received.
I also redesigned one of the pieces. And here it is.
I really did like the idea of putting the square in another area.
I am really enjoying these designs even though they aren’t my forte.

I like your redesigned piece. I really liked that in the original you left some edges ‘unsmooth’ and you didn’t do that in the redesigned one, however I do like the over all effect better. Loved the craftsmanship. Nice job!

Hey Britty,
I love the one of the circles. The craftmanship is amazing, I really had a hard time try to do a really nice curved line. And also, this designs reminds me of my childhood when I used to go to a party and see all those big balloons from below. I loved it.
Also, the piece that you redesigned looks better with the square in another area. And I am impressed with your patience of cutting and putting together all those really thin lines. The craftmanship is amazing…

I think your redesign is really cool. I like it so much better with the square off center. It must have been tedious cutting all that paper but they all came out really great!
