Our Dyna Lite Kit now has speed rings!  Any of the calumet softboxes and the chimera strips can now be used with this lighting set-up…Also, remember this dyna kit can be used in conjunction with the XP1100 battery supply.

Tech Fridays continue this Friday, the 23rd at 2pm.  I’ll be going over all the equipment options students have for on-location shooting…the rangers, travelites, quantums, dyna lites, and on camera flash units. We’ll meet in 515.

As of today, I will be instating the following late fee policy:

1. There will be a $75 per hour late charge on each checkout
2. A max charge of $225 will be applied if not returned for each day
3. Failure to pay the fees applied will result in a suspension of both checkout privileges and network access
4. Repeat offenders will have their privilege of taking gear on-location revoked and will have to rent gear in order to complete on-location assignments.

Because of SPE there will be no Tech Friday this week…I’ll resume them next week.

The Epson R2400 in the inkjet lab is now a “student connect” printer.  This means you can bring your laptop, download the driver, and print.  The max paper size is 13″ and it’s currently running PK.  Let me know if you have any questions loading the driver.

New to our inventory are:

(2) tamron 70-200mm 2.8 lenses with canon mounts

(2) tamron 70-200mm 2.8 lenses with nikon mounts

Very Important…While using this lens with a tripod…put the tripod plate on the mount located on the bottom of the lens…Never use this lens with a tripod connect to you camera…the lens and your camera could break!

These lenses can be used in the studio and have the ability to travel on-location.

The 9900 is up and running…loading roll paper is different, so see a workstudy or myself if you have any questions.  Sign-up and print as normal.

Tech Fridays continue with the Hasselblad 39mp camera…aka…the H2D.  The demo will start at 2pm and will be held in 555A.  Grad students and Undergrads, who are enrolled-in or have completed the first lighting class are welcomed to attend.
