Drawing inspiration from her family’s history and personal interests, Jessica developed the following capstone project. Jessica is currently completing the requirements of her minor in sculpture.
Project Statement: There is a growing need within our economic system to develop local resources in order to sustain and foster our economy, culture, and health. Growth is internal and external. It begins as a seed and physically transforms itself. Witnessing and contributing to this process is vital in understanding the value of life, culture, and humanity. Atlanta Collective’s garden, restaurant, cafe, workshop, artist studios, and farmer’s market provide visitors with visual and tangible processes of growth by way of farming, food, art and community.
