I earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Georgia and a Masters of Science in Social Psychology from Portland State University. I have evaluated program work for a wide range of clients and organizations including community health organizations, magnet schools, and professional development workshops for K-12 educators. Because of my personal passion for the arts, I am very pleased to be conducting program assessment at SCAD.
Five Questions with Gina
What do you love most about the city of Savannah?
After living in the Pacific Northwest for six years, I’m especially loving the southern hospitality and colorful charm of the people here. Also, I love the romantic architecture of the historic district.
What are your favorite TV shows?
Modern Family, The Walking Dead
What classes at SCAD are you most interested in taking?
Architectural History in Savannah (ARLH 150), Painting Basics for the Non-major (PNTG 101), and all of the Ballet and Modern dance courses.
If I did not work in assessment I would be a _____________ :
dance teacher or I would find some way to get paid to travel!
What do you like most about assessment work?
In the same vein that faculty teach because they care about student learning, I assess because I care about student learning. Since faculty must focus their efforts on the every day tasks surrounding student learning, I see my external role as an opportunity to gauge the big picture of student learning. I love using assessment data to facilitate discussions with faculty surrounding program progression.
Gina works with the following departments and programs:
School of Building Arts
School of Design
School of Foundation Studies
School of Liberal Arts – except for the General Education and Teaching programs
