My first year here at SCAD I took a foundation design class with Professor Dumas-Hernandez, and for our final project we were assigned to create an accumulated artist book of all the work we had done that quarter. We worked with certain motifs, and were asked to create black and white compositions from our one logo. Using the compositions we added color, but still kept the visual balance within them. Next we used photographs that we personally took or found online, and converted them to black and white. After collecting all the pieces we laid them out and organized them into an artist book that illustrated our theme and incorporated a story we were trying to tell. The final product looked very creative and fun, and was an artwork within itself.
