Why did you choose SCAD? As an International student I was looking for a school that would not only provide me the best education, but also is friendly to people from different backgrounds; and I found SCAD has this kind of quality. SCAD has a very large and comprehensive International Student Service Office, and a student body from all across the United States and as well as all over the world.
Moreover, as a student that never really had an opportunity to produce art in my life, but was really fascinated in the art field, SCAD’s non-portfolio required policy offered me the great chance to learn all the things I need to know in order to be a professional artist from the very foundation. The dynamic environment as well as the professionalism and confidence SCAD acquires to train students like me attracted me to apply to SCAD.
Why are you an Ambassador? I was a Student Ambassador when I was in my home country Taiwan, and I really enjoyed being an Ambassador, sharing my experiences and helping people learn more about a place that I loved. When I came to SCAD and found that I have fallen in love with it, I wanted to do the same thing as when I was in Taiwan. I also wanted to be part of the SCAD community more than just going to classes and attending lectures, and to find a group that I feel I would belong to. The Ambassador program definitely helped me achieve that goal.
