SCAD Relay for Life!

The SCAD Student Ambassadors recently organized a team for SCAD’s Relay for Life, an fun-filled event taking place on SCAD’s Field at the Hive on the evening of April 12th, 2013. At the event, we will be taking turns walking the path illuminated by the glowing luminaires we sell; we will be painting SCAD spirit on the smiling faces of our donors, and we will be having a good time for a great cause!

All of us have been touched by cancer in some way; our entire admission family felt it in 2011. As a tribute to Pam, and all those we’ve lost or witnessed struggling with Cancer, we’ve decided to make a difference by walking and raising money. Through this experience, we take pride in knowing that we are working to create a world where this disease will no longer threaten the lives of our loved ones or claim another year of anyone’s life. Please join our team or make a donation, because saving lives from cancer starts with you!

SCAD Day Survivors!

This past SCAD Day on Feb. 16th was was our busiest and most chilling SCAD Day yet! It’s a good thing we had snazzy new ambassador sweaters to keep us warm!

Hive of Fame Welcomes…

Each month, we gather to discuss the participation and performance of our incredible team and have an opportunity to honor those we feel have left a shining impression on us! This month, we couldn’t just pick one from the pool of nominees, because you have all been so good to us! Despite the dreaded “winter quarter funk”, both of these individuals have persistently volunteered for events, have helped us when we most needed it, and they represent SCAD with a bright smile and an easy going and lovable personality.

She is one of our amazing NewBees, who is actively involved in several leadership groups on campus, and he is a talented veteran ambassador, who in his senior year, still manages to find time to contribute to this wonderful program. We are lucky to be able to say wholeheartedly that we can count on these volunteers- it’s volunteers like them that make up the backbone of our power team.

Congratulations Charissa Harris & Michael Etienne Edwards!

Your applications are in!

Phew, we’ve got a lot of reviewing to do! On February 8th, we interviewed many, many impressive candidates for the position of SCAD Student Ambassador!  I can already tell- this is going to be a fantastic year! We have a limited number of spaces open for the new 2013 roster- will you make the cut?

When will I hear back about whether I am select as a SCAD Ambassador NewBee?

On Friday, March 1st, we will contact candidates individually via e-mail about their decision. At that time, NewBee prospects will have until Friday, March 8th to let us know if you would like to accept or decline membership into our Ambassador family! Though I can’t imagine anyone who would turn down such an incredible opportunity!

*Hey hey! Heads up! Our Lucky NewBees will be required to attend a series of mandatory SCAD Ambassador NewBee Training Sessions on just about every Friday in Spring Quarter. Don’t worry- they won’t take all day! Please be prepared for this time commitment.

Looking forward to meeting the new members of our amazing group! Best of luck to you all!
