Hometown Heroes are regular SCAD Students and Student Ambassadors who volunteer to visit their former high schools and colleges when they are home to share their love of SCAD with prospective students. They sign up in advance and are armed with some training and educator packets for their visit. Hometown Heroes are not asked to represent admission, or answer admission questions. They are there to get students excited about SCAD by sharing their personal experience and showing examples of their work. These show and tell visits are not only an effective way to recruit new students, but also a rewarding experience for current students. The visits are an excellent opportunity to practice public speaking and professionalism skills.

The Hometown Hero program is open to all current students, from freshmen to graduate students that are interested in sharing their SCAD experiences with prospective students. This year, we are trying to recruit more than three hundred students to participate.

If you are interested in participating with Hometown Heroes, please email asap@scad.edu with your contact information.
