ATTENTION: Sorry about the confusion, but you can submit anything you have that was created since the last INSPIRE 08′. You do NOT need to create anything new. Please submit all work you think would apply. Looking for all media .
1. Work must be submitted in the highest quality along with a lower resolution file for judging.
2. All files must include a slate with artists name and total running time.
3. The categories for submission are listed below.
4. Deadline for submission is Feb. the 13th (Friday)
5. Submit work in a dropbox, located on the fourth floor of Montgomery, behind the greeters desk. Label work with name, contact information, and category.

Maya Modeling Challenge! January 21, 2009
Posted by sfdm in : Announcerments, Competitions , comments closedWe are challenging you to create a unique virtual model using Maya. It could be person, place or thing, so put your imagination to work! (Need inspiration? Check out some of Michael Ingrassia’s work)
Winners will be selected from two categories: amateur and professional. Finalists in each category will be chosen by YOU through a voting system. And don’t be sloppy! Judge Michael Ingrassia will be inspecting the finalists’ working files to make sure the job was done right.
Winners will receive a cash prize and their artwork featured in Computer Graphics World Magazine! (More info on the prizes coming soon)
The deadline to enter is March 31, 2009.

About The Festival: The Crossroads Film Society is proud to present the 10th Annual Crossroads Film Festival. Filmmakers from Mississippi and around the world present and compete in the categories of Feature Film, Short, Documentary, Experimental, Foreign, Student, Music Video and Animation. We offer engaging audiences for every film, daily pre- and post-screening parties, a variety of nationally recognized filmmaker workshops and panels, an awards party and more. Each afternoon kicks off with a Meet & Greet Reception for filmmakers, providing multiple opportunities to visit with filmmakers. Each evening ends with music by regional and national recording artists. About The Festival: The New Orleans International Human Rights Film Festival is now accepting submissions for our 2009 festival. One winner will be chosen every week by a combination of community voting and MyToons judging to receive an iPod loaded with awesome animations. - Click the “Enter New Animation” button or “Enter Existing Animation” for animations you’ve already uploaded to MyToons.
- Follow the quick and easy steps to upload your animation into the contest.
- Make sure that your contest animation meets the HD requirements and that you check YES in the High Definition Option box on the upload page.
- Once entered, your animation will appear in the contest entries section.

Adobe Design Achievement Awards Contest April 30, 2008
Posted by sfdm in : Competitions , comments closedAdobe Design Achievement Awards Contest is open to all full time students. Projects must be original works completed 50% or more with Adobe software. You can enter in 12 categories in 3 media areas.
You can enter film titles, television station identity designs, public service announcements, and other motion design projects that animate still images and moving type to convey a message.
Check out the website, http://www.adaaentry.com. To enter your work, you need to create a digital version to upload on the competition site by May 2, 2008, at 5 pm.You also must upload a student id.
If your work is selected you will be required to send a cd/dvd high resolution version of the piece.
