SCAD Career Fair 2013 call for images

The office for career and alumni success at SCAD is in search of images created by SCAD alumni to use in conjunction with SCAD Career Fair 2013. The theme for SCAD Career Fair 2013 has not yet been determined and may be based on the image selected, as it has been the previous two years. The theme for SCAD Career Fair 2012 was “The Sky is the Limit” and the theme for SCAD Career Fair 2011 was “The Road to Success.”

 

Submit digital files via email. Digital files should be a high-resolution jpeg at 300 dpi at 5″ x 7″ (1,500 x 2,100 pixels, 2 MB approximately). When sending artwork, include your name, degree, major and year of graduation. All artwork should include the title, medium, dimensions and year of completion.

 

All images should be submitted by July 31. Notification will be sent via email if your image is selected and you will be asked to donate the image to SCAD for the sole purpose of visually representing SCAD Career Fair 2013. If you have questions, email the office for career and alumni success at SCAD.

SCAD Career Fair 2012 call for images

The office for career and alumni success at SCAD is in search of images created by SCAD alumni to use in conjunction with SCAD Career Fair 2012. Horizontal images created solely by digital means with a connection to the theme of soaring or rising to new heights are preferred, but all images will be considered.

 

Submit digital files via email. Digital files should be a high-resolution jpeg at 300 dpi at 5″ x 7″ (1,500 x 2,100 pixels, 2 MB approximately). When sending artwork, include your name, degree, major and year of graduation. All artwork should include the title, medium, dimensions and year of completion.

 

All images should be submitted by Friday, Aug. 19. Notification will be sent via email if your image is selected. If you have questions, email the office for career and alumni success at SCAD.

SCAD Permanent Collection call for entry

SCAD will be accepting submissions for the permanent collection Aug. 1-15 with a notification date of Sep. 5.

  • Only submissions emailed on these dates will be considered
  • Only SCAD alumni, students, faculty and staff are eligible
  • Images should be emailed in a PowerPoint presentation attachment with “permanent collection” in the subject line
  • Include artist name, title, size and artist price with each image

SCAD Cyberwalk Arts Contest 2011

SCAD Ceramics Juried Show

A juried SCAD Ceramics show will be held at Sebastian Thomas Gallery in St. Petersburg, Florida, Mar. 28-Apr. 1 during the NCECA conference. The show is open to all SCAD ceramics students and alumni. Applications are due Friday, Mar. 11 and an opening reception will be held Thursday, Mar. 31, 6-8 p.m. Read the prospectus and print the entry form.

Enter the Yoxi competition

Yoxi, a competition that applies the power of the world’s most creative thinkers to the world’s most important problems, is seeking teams of three to battle to create and communicate the best solutions for social issues. Teams must register for Competition #1: “You Are What You Eat” by Oct. 15. Although not required, it is strongly recommended that teams be located the same city/town. MaD Award 2011 call for entries

The Make a Difference Award (MaD) 2011 of Hong Kong seeks entries of initiatives that have made a positive economic, social, environmental and/or cultural impact. The initiatives can be a venture, a project or a campaign, belonging to either or a combination of the following categories:

  • arts and culture
  • business/economic
  • education
  • environment protection and conservation
  • science and technology
  • society
  • other
 

The initiative also has to demonstrate the core MaD values of being creative, compassionate, cosmopolitan and collaborative.

 

There are two categories of entries:

  • full time students (senior secondary school, undergraduate and postgraduate students) aged 16-27
  • young adult entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs of commercial, public sector and non-profit making organizations aged 35 or below and students aged 28–35.
 

Applications are team-based, subject to a maximum of five members per team. Applications from and outside Hong Kong are accepted. Winners receive up to HK$100,000 in cash or HK$150,000 in-kind. Deadline to enter is Nov. 15 and winner will be announced Jan. 23, 2011. Apply.

Working Class Studio seeks doll designs

Working Class Studio seeks student, alumni and faculty softie and doll designs for a special partnership project and exhibition with renowned Atlanta-based knitwear atelier Blabla. Selected dolls will be featured in a winter exhibition, and one doll will be chosen for production and sold as a limited edition, co-branded product. Finalized designs and fabricated dolls must be submitted to Working Class Studio no later than Monday, Oct. 4.
