Chapman Design Group reaches ‘Pinnacle’

Chapman Design Group
, led by Donald Chapman (B.F.A., interior design 1989; M.Arch. 1990), received a Pinnacle Award from the Home Builders Association of South Carolina for outstanding craftsmanship in the construction and remodeling of quality homes, as well as in sales and marketing. The award received was for new home construction with a project cost of $1.5 million to $1.99 million. The home was designed by Chapman.

Jamee Linton (B.F.A., illustration, 1999; M.F.A., painting, 2003) will be exhibiting her landscape paintings at The Buckman Art Show and Sell Mar. 6-7 at Buckman Elementary School, 320 SE 16th St., Portland, Ore.

Trish Andersen (B.F.A., fibers, 2005) and Maureen Walsh (B.F.A., fibers, 2005) created Domestic Construction, a multi-disciplinary design studio specializing in interiors, environments and one of a kind fashion and home products. Domestic Construction has been nominated as one of New York’s top three design firms of 2008. Vote to make them number 1 today!

Alumnus wins Emmy

Edwardo “Ed” Mendez (M.F.A., computer art, 2004) has been awarded an Emmy for his work on “John Adams“, the mini-series on HBO. His Emmy is for the category of “Outstanding Special Effects for a Miniseries, Movie or Special”.  The 2008 Creative Arts Emmy Awards will air this Saturday, Sept. 20 at 8:00 p.m. on E!
